Eighteenth Sunday of Pentecost

We Welcome the Holy Spirit

So many times we put forbidding notices on our doors - Do Not Disturb or Do Not Enter.

What would happen if we put signs on our doors that welcomed the Holy Spirit into our lives?

Cut the door hanger from green fun foam. Cut the circle from blue foam and the wings and body of the dove from white foam. It might be interesting to make the flames of fire of the day of Pentecost instead, using red, orange, and yellow foam.

Letter a welcome to the Holy Spirit with gold markers or fabric paint, and glue the foam cutouts in place.

Let each child take his or her sign home to hang from a doorknob.

And we could sing the welcome, "Amen, Come, Holy Spirit," from Now the Feast and Celebration by Marty Haugen.
