You Have Looked Deep Within My Heart, O Lord, and You Know All about Me

Psalm 139, verses 1 - 12

Even if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.

What kind of God is present in a place which is defined by his absence?

Sheol is defined as that place where God is not. Yet, if we choose to go to that place, God will watch over us there, too.

Who is this God who knows everything about us, whose presence is everywhere, even in the places where he isn't, for whom darkness and light are the same?

We will consider these questions, who is God, and what is his relationship to us, throughout Confirmation Instruction.

We begin our study with the sure knowledge that God knows each one of us, and that each one of us belongs to him.
