Second Sunday of Pentecost

The House on the Rock Stood Firm

Matthew 7: 15

We might want to sing,"Rock of Ages," today as we give thanks for the solid rock of faith in Jesus.

Copy the house on card stock (you can copy the outline on white card stock and let the children add decorations and color.)

Cut slits for the tabs, and cut away one side of the tree, so it can stand out from the house; then cut alternate sides of the snowman. You may cut the windows, too, if you like, so that they can be folded open.

This is a cold-weather house with its steep roof and snowman. You could modify it to have a flatter roof and different bushes for a warmer climate.

But regardless of our environment, how sturdy a house can we build, when we build our lives on the rock of Jesus?
