Christ the King Sunday

Today You Will Be with Me in Paradise

Luke 23: 43

When Jesus rose from the dead to be king, he promised us all a place in his kingdom.

Since we can't visualize what his kingdom might look like, this Sunday is a good day for us to work in abstraction.

Provide a 5-inch by 7-inch canvas board for each child - very sturdy cardboard might work as well - and a variety of colored rubber bands of different widths. (The cardboard needs to be sturdy enough so that it won't bend under the tension of the rubber bands.)

After completing the rubber band layout, add various colors of fabric paint to show Jesus' transition from the earth to the sky.

And we might want to sing, "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High."
