In Palestine, a desert country with flash floods, there were few bridges, as the floods would wash them out quickly.

But the Israelites found ways of marking safe crossings with stones or markers.

Copy the verse on white card stock, and use cellophane, foil, and formex film to build up a flowing river. You may add a simple river landscape of bushes and small trees if you like.

Use small, flat, polished stones or tiles to make stepping stones across the river.

And sing "Precious Lord, Take My Hand " (With One Voice 731), knowing that God guides our every step across rushing and turbulent waters.
